Here below we will provide you with information about WikiMendations for you to understand what it is all about.



What is the WikiMendations?

The WikiMendations service of the portal is the individual compontent of our Living Toolkit on the portal. The name is coming from the longer: Recommendations Wiki term, which suggest that you will read recommendations for ICT Good practice in a Wiki format. This is an effective tool to actively participate in the Hextlearn community by:

  • reading the recommendations we have prepared for you by analyzing the good practices we have identified so far.
  • proposing your own recommendations to add them to the list we offered.
As we said earlier we use wiki technology (DokuWiki) to make the process flexible and long living.


WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE WikiMendations?

The purpose of the WikiMendations service is:

  • to let you read and use the information we synthetised from the large number of good practice cases, interviews and peer reviews gathered from the Hextlearn community
  • to encourage you to share the recommendations you think are useful for other ICT practicioners in Higher Education all around Europe.
  • to see a broad picture about ICT good practices all around Europe to position yourself
  • to go further on the Hextlearn road in case our WikiMendations has got assuring indications to your ICT practice by using the tool: Sharing Practice
These aspects -the so-called territories- are:
  • Campus education
  • Corporate training
  • Continuing professional development
  • Adult education
  • Local and regional development
  • Schools teachers’ training
  • Distance education
  • International (virtual) mobility
  • Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) for guidance and employment


WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF WikiMendations?

Your recommendations will be disseminated to people who are working on the same field as you. The Hextlearn community consist of colleagues from other European HE institutions, so you become a member of a group who can build a Real network ICT experts. You may be invited to participate in further ICT research in the framework of HEXTLEARN project and your recommendations may be referred and later quoted in research reports. Hextlearn community will help you better understand your positioning in the European HE panorama in the specific field you are insterested in.


COPYRIGHT AND CONFIDENCIALITY

The Sharing Practice is a committing and valuable exercise. It does imply an exchange of information that involves copyright and confidentiality aspects.
